APAC is an unincorporated,
grassroots association of Christians in New York State’s Capital Region that
seeks to broaden Christian influence in local, state, and federal politics and
public policies.
APAC works together with established
ministries and public policy groups to educate the public in general, and
Christians in particular, on political issues affecting them. APAC also seeks to
motivate people to register and vote using Biblical values as a guide.
Lastly, APAC encourages
and equips people of faith
to take a proactive approach to politics and the political process.
APAC's leaders are available to speak on
current issues from a Biblical perspective at churches or other community
groups.
"The time has come for Christians to
vote for honest men, and take consistent ground in politics, or the Lord
will curse them...God cannot sustain this free and blessed country,
which we love and pray for, unless the church will take right ground.
Politics are a part of religion in such a country as this, and
Christians must do their duty to their country as part of their duty to
God...God will bless or curse this nation according to the course
Christians take in politics.”
-- Rev. Charles Finney (1792- 1875)
(Attorney turned evangelist, renowned for
helping bring massive revival to Upstate New York in the first half of
the 19th century.)
